Amongst Others

In the 'Amongst Others' photo series, I explored the nuanced reality of modern life, where societal norms and social media often compel us to project an image of perfection. Featuring five young adults, this series captures the contrast between external appearances and internal turmoil.

Each character takes center stage in different shots, surrounded by friends who appear to be enjoying the moment. Yet, the focus is on the subtle expressions of these individuals, hinting at their hidden struggles. The standout images involve dynamic shots with Uno cards and red Solo cups, where the scene's celebratory nature contrasts with the characters' introspective expressions. Using flash to freeze the motion, these images reveal the internal conflict and emotional complexity often masked by moments of celebration, offering a poignant commentary on the hidden struggles we all face while ‘Amongst Others’.
